...The Special Committees...

Posted by Civil engineering Executive Organization On 7:40 AM

This year, the Executive Committee has decided to create Special Committees that will address certain needs of the organization. The "Special Committees" was conceptualized when they saw that some concerns of the organization have vague designations. They were either not assigned to or were not exclusive to any standing committee, causing havoc in mobilization. The members in these special committees were chosen by the Executive Committee based on the member's abilities and those who will volunteer themselves.

There are three special committees created this school year, the E-Communications Team (E-Comm), the Ruby Tuesday and the Constitution Amendment Team (Consti Team).

E-Communications Team:

This team will be in-charge of the organization's publicity paraphernalia in the World Wide Web. They will design, update and maintain the organization's official website (http://uplb-ceo.org.ph), blog (http://uplb-ceo.blogspot.com) and forums (http://uplb-ceo.tk). This way, the concerned public--UPLB constituents or otherwise--and our dear alumni will be updated with the latest Org events and activities stashed with articles, pictures and videos for their curiousity tanks.

Ruby Tuesday:
(Why the name? Think--Mafia! The members of the organization are professionals yet they certainly know what F-U-N is! )

The organization had its share of financial shortcomings. One cause of this is the lack of supervision in solicitations of our members. To overcome this, the Ruby Tuesday was created to be in-charge of initiating, conceptualizing and monitoring the solicitations and sponsorships of the organization. They will create different solicitation and sponsorship proposals (or packages) depending on sectors--alumni, big companies, small businesses in LB, politicians and other UPLB student organizations--and they will hold workshops for members to overcome shyness during follow-ups especially with calls.

Constitution Amendment Team:

Last semester, the resident members had their Constitution Reading and gave feedbacks on our Constitution. The Consti Team will create the proposed Constitution for the next school year, AY2009-2010, with the approval of the alumni. For the whole school year, AY2008-2009, they will conceptualize the constitution, create its physical representation, present it to the resident members, review and revise it before the Executive Committee will finally present it to the Alumni and get their consent.
